Assiniboine Poplar
What: Assiniboine Poplar (Populus ‘Assiniboine’) is a tall, fast-growing rounded shade tree of exceptional cold hardiness. It features rich green heart-shaped leaves that turn yellow in fall and grows with an oval habit to about 60 feet tall with a 40-foot spread.
Best use: Ideal for windbreaks, shelterbelts, and providing quick shade on acreages, farms, and larger residential properties. Due to its aggressive root system, it should not be planted near houses or underground services.
