Cupid Cherry
What: Cupid Cherry is an early bloomer with large dark red to black cherries that are sweet and slightly astringent; fruit matures in late summer to early fall and excellent for fresh eating and processing; vigorous and hardy, putting out fewer suckers than others.
Best use:Typically grown for its edible qualities. It produces dark red round fruit (technically ‘drupes’) with black overtones which are usually ready for picking in late summer. Note that the fruits have hard inedible pits inside which must be removed before eating or processing. The fruits have a sweet taste and a juicy texture.
