Rock Mulch Surcharge
Planting in established rock or thick mulch beds requires significant extra care. Surcharges may apply for removal and preservation.
Caliper Tree Install
We utilize a specialized mini loader with low ground pressure. This equipment is excellent for small or tight access spots and significantly minimizes damage to existing lawns and landscapes.

Once you’ve hand-picked your trees, shrubs, and perennials – online, over the phone, or at our Grande Prairie yard, Schedule your delivery and installation. Safety First: Contact Utility Safety locaters to ensure all digging is done safely. Then finalize your order so we can get our crews moving.

Who does your planting service serve?
We provide services for a wide range of clients, including residential homeowners, landscape contractors, acreage and farm owners, and commercial or industrial landowners.
Can you help me decide where to put my new trees?
Yes! Our experienced technicians offer professional advice on the best locations for your plants based on their specific needs for sun and wind exposure, as well as soil conditions (consultation fees may apply). However, we are also happy to plant exactly where you have already designated.
What kind of plants do you offer for the installing service?
We supply high-quality Alberta-grown nursery stock, including deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs, as well as various types of perennials suited for Northern Alberta.
Do I have to have my plants delivered and planted?
No, we offer flexible options. You can pick up your plants yourself, have them delivered to your site, or choose our full delivery and planting service.
Who is responsible for utility locating?
Homeowners are responsible for ensuring all underground lines are marked before we arrive. For safety and legal reasons, we cannot plant until a valid locate ticket is confirmed.

Standard Service: Contact Utility Safety Partners. This is free, but we recommend booking early as wait times are typically two weeks.

Private Locating: For faster service, you may hire a private company. They charge a fee but are often much quicker and will mark private lines (like secondary gas or power lines) that the standard service won’t cover.
Important: Planting may need to be rescheduled if utilities are not marked by your installation date.
What equipment do you bring? Will it tear up my lawn?
Our crew arrives with a flatbed truck and a trailer towing specialized planting equipment. This includes a tree auger designed to create the ideal tapered hole for potted or burlap trees.
Our machine’s light, nimble, ground-friendly design includes an articulated joint that makes the it highly maneuverable while minimizing ruts and tears.
What's the difference between Caliper v.s. Potted?
Potted plants are grown in containers for easy transport and flexible planting throughout the season, making them ideal for smaller projects and DIY gardeners. Caliper trees are mature specimens measured by trunk thickness and sold with a root ball, providing an instant, established look for your landscape.
Watering and Aftercare
Water deeply 1 to 2 times per week. Heavy clay soils retain water; overwatering leads to the “bathtub effect,” suffocating root flares. Allow the topsoil to dry slightly between waterings.
Do I need to leave the stakes?
Leave any provided stakes in place for the first year to ensure structural stability against high winds, then remove them.
What about mulch?
Maintain a 2-3″ mulch ring to retain moisture. Always keep mulch pulled back a few inches from the base of the trunk to prevent rot.
Important Surcharges & Operational Policies
Minimum Service Charge: A strict $150.00 minimum service charge applies to all planting dispatches to cover mobilization costs.
Hardscape Surcharge: A mandatory 40% to 50% surcharge applies when planting in established ground cover like rock or thick mulch beds.
Safety & Utility Locates: The property owner is strictly responsible for requesting a free utility locate via Utility Safety Partners. Planting cannot commence without valid, unexpired locate documentation present on site.
Labor Warranty Separation: Professional planting services and delivery fees are non-refundable and are not warranted. If a plant under warranty dies and needs replacing, all delivery and labor costs for replanting will fall to the purchaser and be quoted separately.
We deliver out of town, mileage charges will apply out of Grande Prairie. $2.25/km both ways. We deliver to: Wembley, Sexsmith, Beaverlodge, Hythe, Valleyview, Rycroft, Spirit River.
